Back from the long weekend!!

Hey ladies! Sorry I stepped out yesterday. As always, I have loads of stuff for you today to make up for my absence!

You can buy Tarte's new 6 piece "Amazonian Adventure Clay Infused Color Collection" early on QVC at a discount. Just be sure to get it before September 10!! Here's the link: http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.html/params.file.%7Cnl%7Cem_aptsv_tarte_faux_090810%2Chtml?cm_ven=APTSV&cm_cat=TARTE0910&cm_pla=ACTIVE&cm_ite=HERO_FAUXPD

Any order over $35 on http://www.laurageller.com/ gets a free eyeshadow in Jupiter- an amazing fall color. No code needed!!

Go to http://www.origins.com/, make ANY purchase and you get to choose a full sized lip gloss! There are 4 options and whichever one you choose has it's own offer code. See the website for all the details.

And finally, I have been using Olay's Pro-Age body lotion for several weeks. This stuff is made with alpha hydroxy acids- you know, the stuff that chemically exfoliates your skin. It took my skin about a week to get used to it. But, I gotta tell you, I can really tell a difference! Particularly on my legs. My skin looks smoother and more uniform in color. I am really excited about this find.

A decade of purty-ness

Tarte is turning ten!!! (Helllooo alliteration!) Anywho, the eco-friendly cosmetics company has hit the 10 year milestone and they are giving the gifts to us! First, use code "BDAY" from now through Sept 6 to get $10 off a $20 or more purchase. Check out their new fall line of makeup for some other wonderful treats. I am supremely interested in the new EmphasEYES aqua gel liner. It's a long lasting eye pencil, but it's 50% water based. Rather than dry out/stress out the thin eyelid skin, it replenishes it. And the colors? Mmmmmm! Love it!! I am also intrigued by the new natural matte lip stains. I see myself wearing those with a layer of balm or gloss on top for some long lasting, moisturizing color.

Get thee to http://www.tartecosmetics.com/. And use that code this weekend to get your fall makeup jump started!

Happy Monday

I know that it's mid-August and where I live, that guarantees at least another month and a half of hot weather. All the September magazines are rolling out featuring all that is gorgeous for the fall/winter. And while I certainly can't wear suede or massive scarves yet, I can start easing some fall makeup into my daily life.

For instance, I swapped out my summery, pineapple yellow toenail polish for a muted perfect blend of brown/purple/grey. It's gorgeous and already has me thinking cooler thoughts. Another option? Moving back to a lip stick or a lip stain as opposed to your current lip gloss or lip balm.

Need some more inspiration? Head over to major cosmetic sites like Smashbox (http://www.smashbox.com/), Tarte (http://www.tartecosmetics.com/), or even Urban Decay (http://www.urbandecay.com/) and take a peek at their fall cosmetics lines. I bet you thought only clothing designers had fall lines!! Nope! Cosmetics companies follow the trends, too.

(PS- Don't say I never gave you anything. M.A.C. Cosmetics is going to launch a Wonder Woman themed line of makeup in Spring of 2011. I might die of sheer happiness.)

Discounts-a-go-go!!

Got some great coupon codes and sales for you for the holiday weekend!

First, use the code "FIREWORKS" on http://www.tartecosmetics.com/ for 30% off your entire order until July 5! I would recommend one of their cheek stains (lovely push pop shaped gel colors that won't run off your face in the heat) or their EyeQuatic Waterproof Essentials Set (shown above) for eye makeup that is truly going to go the distance!!

Benefit Cosmetics is having their "Sale-A-Bration" going on over the holiday weekend as well. Go to http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/ and check out their options. I like the "Bright Lights, Big City" kit. So fun!

I know I tend to harp on this a lot; but please, please, PLEASE remember your sunscreen this weekend while you're out playing in the sun. The Neutrogena ones are the absolute best. I am walking proof that they do!!

Another Friday is here!

So let's see what kinds of things I could drop on you for the weekend...

New York Fashion Week is currently going on and I don't know if I'm the only person who gets a little nerdy about it or not. Wait, apparently makeup companies do, too. They've started branding their looks for each designer. And the good news is that you can buy the looks! For example, Stila is doing the runway looks for several designers. The products they used in the BCBG MaxAzria show can now be purchased as a set for much cheaper than you could buy them a la carte: www.stilacosmetics.com.

Tarte Cosmetics has a really cool promo. If you go to their website and enter to win a 3 piece eye collection, Tarte will donate $1 to the Red Cross for the relief efforts in Haiti. Just go to www.tartecosmetics.com and go to the icon at the bottom of the homepage to enter.

Free shipping on clinique.com with the code "WEEKEND". No minimum purchase required

And if you are currently living somewhere that is going to be cold and wet and/or snowy this weekend., please remember to take care of your skin. Rich creams for elbows, knees, and heels. Balm for your lips. And don't forget to keep drinking plenty of non-caffeinated beverages for hydration! Hot tea is always a great choice!!

For my minimalist ladies

Ok, ok. I hear you. There are some of you out there who are saying "Look, Too. Enought with the crazy lip color recommendations. You're nuts. I just want something I can wear that is an all in one, natural looking color. Help a sister out."

Well, if this describes you or if you're looking for something you can toss in your pocket or purse for all day spring adventures, here are a few suggestions:

Elizabeth Arden's 8 Hour Cream Lip Protectant in Honey- http://www.elizabetharden.com/. This stuff is sheer and comes in a light or dark shade, depending on your preference. It's incredibly moisturizing and makes your lips look soft and smooth for hours. Oh, did I mention it also has an SPF of 15?

Clark's Botanicals Lip Tint in Alexandra Rose- http://www.clarksbotanicals.com/. It softens. It shines. It's a fantastic natural lip color.

Burt's Bees Shiny Lip Gloss in Juicy Peach or Sweet Pink- http://www.burtsbees.com/. All natural, affordable, and these things smell unbelieveable.

Tarte Cosmetics 24-7 Lip Sheers- http://www.tartecosmetics.com/. You really can't go wrong with any of these shades. They are perfectly sheer and also have the SPF 15 added. Right now, they have essentially a buy-one-get-one-free with some pretty pink colors: www.tartecosmetics.com/tarte-item-pinks

If you live near a Target, go to the makeup section and look for Sonia Kashuk. She has a fantastic Sheer Lip Color and Plumping Glossy Tint that comes in several colors. Plus, you'll have the benefit of actually seeing/sampling the color before you buy it.

Happy sheer lip color hunting!
