It's a Thursday two-fer

First of all, free shipping all week at http://www.beautydeals.net/ with the code "9716". Check out the sales section and see if there is something new that you'd like to try.

Second, I am in LOVE with a new soap. Quite the happy accident, by the way. I was in my local Rite Aid grabbing a few things. I was on the soap aisle snagging a bottle of bubble bath for my son when I remembered my current bar of soap was down to a micro sliver. So, I scooted down to the soap section and lo and behold found this: http://goodhealthnaturalproducts.com/fm_bar_soaps.html

South of France Soaps. I saw the Shea Butter variety and grabbed it up!! They come in 2 bar packs which I love because buying one bar of soap at a time is just absurd. Anywho, I brought it home and the next morning when I hopped in the shower I was incredibly happy with the results. As soon as I got the bar wet, it produced the creamiest, most moisturizing and great smelling suds!! It rinsed away clean and made my skin felt great. After doing a little digging on the company, I found out that they use all natural products and are cruelty free. I am now a loyal customer. Give them a try. I think you'll be pleased.

A foxy lady called me the other day...

...looking for some suggestions about eye shadows for fall. She wanted to shake up her beauty routine and try some new stuff. I gave her several recommendations, but the one I am going to share with you is to try a gorgeous greeny-gold shade. It looks good on anyone and can be applied lightly or layered on for a real PUNCH! Want some specific suggestions?

1. Ulta's Eye Shadows in either Verdigris or Olive
2. Sephora's Colorful Mono Eyeshadow in Me Jane 75
3. Maybelline Eye Shadow Duo in Irish Mist
4. Clinique Cream Shadow in Sunlit Palm
5. Lancome Sensational Effects Eye Shadow in Designer
I'm telling you- khaki green is huge this fall and winter. Go ahead and jump on this!

Instead of this...

The next time you want to wear a ponytail and you want it to be in it for the long haul, use 2 skinny ponytail holders at the same time as opposed to one regular one. The 2 skinnies will hold your hair TIGHT. You will be pleasantly surprised at the lasting power of your pony. Too suggests the Goody Ouchless line of thin black ponytail holders. They're my favorite and I think you'll like them as well.

90's flashback!!

Remember the cosmetics brand "Hard Candy?" They were the pioneers of the not-pink-or-red nail polish colors. Well, they went into hiding for a while but they are back! The good news? They are selling their products at Wal-Mart now. Truly affordable for some fun items! From their Kaleyedescope Eyeshadow Duos to their eye liner that is shaped like a chop stick (see above) the choices are equal parts edgy and fun. You can preview all the makeup on http://www.walmart.com/ or just head on over to your local store and see if they have it!

Get ready for the week

I know I don't normally post on Sunday nights, but I had some fun stuff to share with you for the week ahead!

1. Free shipping this week at http://www.ulta.com/. Spend $25 or more and use code "59604." Don't forget to order your 3 free samples!

2. Join Hautelook (http://www.hautelook.com/) if you haven't joined yet because they are having a Stila Cosmetics Event tomorrow starting at 11:00 AM EST. 50% off or more on Stila?? Yes, please!!

3. Maybelline has come up with a gel eye liner with some serious staying power. It's called "Eye Studio Lasting Drama" and they claim that it can stay on up to 24 hours. If you've never tried a gel liner, don't be scared! I love this stuff. It much easier to work with than a liquid liner but once it dries, it is ON! It comes in 4 colors and honestly, you couldn't go wrong with any of them. They would all look amazing with the chic, lady like fall looks.

This stuff is wonderful!

Everyone knows about my affinity for polished fingernails and toenails. LOVE them. However, as we all know, even the slightest chip can ruin a fantastic mani or pedi. How excited was I to discover Seche Vite. This stuff is the ultimate top coat. It hardens into the perfect, non-yellowing, extremely shiny finish on any nail color. Did I mention it's also quick drying?? That is a GIANT bonus for me!

Finally, every single beauty magazine out there puts this at the top of their lists for top coats. InStyle, Allure, Marie Claire- they all love it and recommend it annually.

Where can you get it? Trade Secret and Sally Beauty have it. Ulta does as well. I can guarantee that once you've tried this stuff, you'll never go back.

Happy Monday

I know that it's mid-August and where I live, that guarantees at least another month and a half of hot weather. All the September magazines are rolling out featuring all that is gorgeous for the fall/winter. And while I certainly can't wear suede or massive scarves yet, I can start easing some fall makeup into my daily life.

For instance, I swapped out my summery, pineapple yellow toenail polish for a muted perfect blend of brown/purple/grey. It's gorgeous and already has me thinking cooler thoughts. Another option? Moving back to a lip stick or a lip stain as opposed to your current lip gloss or lip balm.

Need some more inspiration? Head over to major cosmetic sites like Smashbox (http://www.smashbox.com/), Tarte (http://www.tartecosmetics.com/), or even Urban Decay (http://www.urbandecay.com/) and take a peek at their fall cosmetics lines. I bet you thought only clothing designers had fall lines!! Nope! Cosmetics companies follow the trends, too.

(PS- Don't say I never gave you anything. M.A.C. Cosmetics is going to launch a Wonder Woman themed line of makeup in Spring of 2011. I might die of sheer happiness.)

One coat or two? And what order???

For those of you who wear mascara, there's always that age old question- when I'm applying my second coat, do I wait until the first coat is dry or go ahead and do 2 coats in a row??

The answer is- it depends on what kind of mascara you are putting on. If you are using waterproof mascara, letting the first coat dry can cause clumps when putting on a second coat. So, you're going to want to go ahead and do your 2 coats in a row. If you are wearing non-waterproof mascara, you can let the first coat dry before applying the second coat. i.e.- one coat on your right eye, then one on your left, then back to the right.

Does this help?
