I do love my makeup. You guys know I do. But, when I am packing for a trip, I am such a minimalist!! I do not want to take up any more space than I have to. And now for your weekly PSA. Let's talk about a little thing called parabens. Who is familiar with these? For those of you who aren't, they are petroleum based preservatives in cosmetics that primarily are added to help destroy bacteria and funguses. As with any chemical, there are some risks. The weird thing is that parabens can actually mimic estrogen when introduced to the body. Also, people with more sensitive skin can be more likely to have reactions to products with parabens in them. Finally, some people just think that parabens, since they are not a natural substance, can clog pores.

The reason I bring this up is because I want to educate. I can tell you that I use cosmetics that do and cosmetics that don't contain parabens. I believe in all things in moderation and I also think that we should all be educated so that we can make the best decisions for ourselves.
